Merlimont is a small village in the region of the Pas de Calais, otherwise known as La Cote d’Opale (coast of pearls). It is situated between the towns of Le Touquet and Berck and is described as a village in the dunes with a sandy beach which stretches right along the coastline.
Merlimont benefits from a number of bakeries, butchers, cafes and bars. There is a small supermarket and a choice of excellent restaurants where you will find some of the best food in France.
The nearby towns offer colourful, typically French weekly markets. Le Touquet is especially known for its golf and the area also plays host to many land, air and watersports. Local amusements include a waterpark in Le Touquet, a ‘Bagatelle’ theme park just outside Berck and boat trips in Etaples.
